Practice Branding

Spotlight is an essential tool for accountants offering advisory services. The following settings will help you add your own branding and colours to the reports you produce to maximise your brand to clients!

Branding Reports

Upload your practice logo

Once you’ve uploaded a logo, you can use it on the cover page of each Spotlight Sustain, Reporting, Forecasting, Dashboard (Resilience and Performance layouts) and Multi report you produce.

  1. From your main screen click on the “Practice Settings” button and select “General”.
  2. Click the “Browse” button on the right hand side.
  3. Find your Practice logo on your computer and click “Open”. You will now see your Practice logo in the settings page.
  4. Click the “Apply” button at the top of the page to confirm selection.

If you’d like to use a different logo for any organisation (e.g. for a client’s organisation) - head into organisation settings.

Add your practice colours

The options to change the colours for the practice are now available in the Appearance tab - for further information on these and the other cover page options, please refer to our Customising Report Covers article.

Change your default report titles

Each Spotlight Product has a default report title. Simply select the text box and replace the existing text. Remember to ‘save’ any changes you make.

Update report footer

The report footer appears on the bottom of each page within a report. This is a great area to add a disclaimer or your contact details.

Branding Charts

Match graph colours to your practice colours

Changing the colours within the report graphs allows you to further align each report with your practice.

  1. From the ‘Build Report’ tab, hover your mouse over the relevant page and select the ‘customise’ button.
  2. Find the chart you wish to customise and click ‘customise' button on the chart.
  3. From the ‘series’ tab open the relevant drop-down.
  4. Click on the ‘colour’ block and scroll through the different colours available.
  5. Repeat for each series you’d like to change.
  6. Click ‘update’ to save your changes.

Provide chart narration

The chart narration is a great tool to leave an explanation, or set of tips to help your clients understand each graph on their report. The narration appears under each graph.

  1. From the ‘Build Report’ tab, hover your mouse over the relevant page and select the ‘customise’ button.
  2. Find the chart you wish to customise and click ‘customise this chart’.
  3. From the ‘chart’ tab open the ‘Narration’ dropdown. You’re now able to enter any text you’d like - feel free to copy our graph explanations here.
  4. Click ‘update’ to save your changes.
