Cash & Wealth

Note: The Cash & Wealth template provides information from the personal wealth data that you add into Spotlight.  Before you begin, please ensure you've imported or entered personal wealth data using the myprosperity, Excel - Personal Wealth, or Personal Wealth - Manual data source.

The Cash and Wealth template is designed to report on personal wealth data, and includes several new pages.  The report also includes the Table of Contents, Action Plan and Executive Summary pages.

Wealth Analysis

This page shows an overview of assets, liabilities and net worth for the client, plus some useful charts to illustrate key metrics.

To edit the Wealth Analysis page

  1. From the Customise Layout tab, locate the required page then click Customise.
  2. To view the page options, click Show Settings.

You can now edit the settings for the page.

The settings available

There are a number of different settings available on the report.

Detail level

You can choose from three detail levels for the report. Once you've made any changes, to show these changes on the report, click Update.

  • Summary with charts - This is the default setting on all new Wealth Analysis pages. This includes the summary Wealth table report and three charts from the Chart Gallery. If you prefer, you can customise these charts or change them for others from the gallery. In this detail level, accounts are listed by Category name.
  • Summary - This detail level includes the summary Wealth table report, but does not include any charts. In this detail level, accounts are listed by Category name.
  • Detailed - This shows the full detailed report. As this layout shows the most information, to ensure there is enough space for the account information it doesn't contain charts.
    Note: Detailed reports in Spotlight use the account name imported from your data source by default, unless you have manually changed the Spotlight Display Names. If you have changed the Spotlight Display Name, this appears in the detailed report.

Wealth Analysis Charts

If you've chosen the Summary with charts format, you can include three charts at the bottom of the page. If you need to, you can change or edit the charts which are provided. For further information please refer to Customising your charts.

Inflows and Outflows Analysis

The Inflows and Outflows Analysis page shows a breakdown of income and expenses and a net cash flow total for the period you select.

To edit the Inflows and Outflows Analysis

  1. From the Customise Layout tab locate the Inflows and Outflows Analysis page, then click Customise.
  2. To access the page settings, click Show Settings.

You can then see and work with the customisation options available for the Inflows and Outflows Analysis page.

The settings available

There are a number of different settings available on the report.

Detail Level

You can choose from three detail levels for the report. Once you've made any changes, to show these changes on the report, click Update.

  • Summary with charts - This is the default setting on all new Inflows and Outflows Analysis pages.  This  includes the summary inflows and outflows table report, monitor tables (if selected) and three charts from the Chart Gallery. Monitors

The Monitors option shows the top three inflows and outflows for the current year. If you prefer not to see these, clear the Show Monitors check box to hide the monitors. The monitors contain the following information:

  • Top 3 Inflows - This option shows the top three accounts with the report code PER.INF which had the highest inflows in the financial year.
  • Top 3 Outflows - This option shows the top three accounts with the report code PER.OUT which had the highest outflows in the financial year.

Customise Columns

There are a number of options available to customise the columns in your report. To choose the columns you want:

  1. Click Customise Columns, then from within the Customise Columns window, select the check boxes for the columns you want.
  2. To show your changes on the report, click Update.

Note: You can have a maximum of 12 columns per page. If you need to show more options, you can add multiple Inflows and Outflows Analysis pages to your report with the Add Page option.  You can then customise the new page to include the additional columns.

Inflows and Outflows Analysis Charts

If you've chosen the Summary with charts format, you can include three charts at the bottom of the page.  If you need to, you can change or edit the charts which are provided.  For further information please refer to Customising your charts.

Cash Flow Analysis

This page provides an overview of the inflows and outflows for the individual in a cashflow waterfall format.  To change the settings on the page:

  1. From the Customise Layout tab locate the Cash Flow Analysis page then click Customise.
  2. From the right-hand page, select the From Date and To Date you want to use.  By default, the date range runs for the full financial year to date.
  3. If required, to see rows where there are no values in the period, select the Show zero value rows check box.
  4. To see your changes on the report, click Update, or to go back to the default settings, click Reset.
